# TLS version should be set to TLSv1.2 or higher for MySQL flexible database servers
 
## Description{% #description %}

Transport Layer Security (TLS) connectivity enhances security by encrypting the communication between database servers and client applications. This control requires TLS 1.2 or TLS 1.3, the recommended setting for MySQL 8.0 and later. Enforcing TLS connections helps protect data from "man-in-the-middle" attacks by securing the data stream between the server and the application.
