# Network Watchers should be in the 'Succeeded' provisioning state

## Description{% #description %}

Azure Network Watcher provides monitoring, diagnostics, and logging capabilities for Azure network resources. A Network Watcher in a failed provisioning state indicates a deployment or configuration issue that prevents it from functioning. Network Watchers that are not in the `Succeeded` state cannot capture network traffic, run connectivity checks, or provide diagnostic data.

This rule checks existing Network Watcher resources. It does not detect regions in use that have no Network Watcher deployed.

## Remediation{% #remediation %}

Review the Network Watcher resource in the affected region and redeploy or repair it as needed. See [Enable or disable Azure Network Watcher](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/network-watcher/network-watcher-create).
