# Publicly accessible Lambda function has a high or critical severity vulnerability
 
## Description{% #description %}

A publicly accessible AWS Lambda function has one or more high or critical severity vulnerabilities. Publicly accessible functions with high or critical vulnerabilities are at a higher risk of exploitation, which can compromise data integrity and system security.

## Remediation{% #remediation %}

1. Identify the vulnerabilities associated with the function and review any related references or advisories.
1. Prioritize and apply security patches or updates to address the identified vulnerabilities. If patches are not available, consider implementing compensating controls.
1. Evaluate whether the Lambda function needs to be publicly accessible. If not, modify the function's access settings to restrict public access.
