# Uninstall kea Package

If the system does not need to act as a DHCP server, the kea package can be uninstalled.

## Rationale{% #rationale %}

Removing the DHCP server ensures that it cannot be easily or accidentally reactivated and disrupt network operation.

## Remediation{% #remediation %}

### Shell script{% #shell-script %}

The following script can be run on the host to remediate the issue.

#!/bin/bash

# CAUTION: This remediation script will remove kea
# from the system, and may remove any packages
# that depend on kea. Execute this
# remediation AFTER testing on a non-production
# system!


if rpm -q --quiet "kea" ; then
dnf remove -y --noautoremove "kea"
fi
```
