# Cloud Guard should be enabled

## Description{% #description %}

Cloud Guard monitors your Oracle Cloud Infrastructure environment to detect potential security threats and misconfigurations. Enabling Cloud Guard provides centralized visibility into security posture, automated threat detection, and the ability to respond to security issues across all compartments. Without Cloud Guard enabled, security risks may go undetected until they result in incidents.

## Remediation{% #remediation %}

Enable Cloud Guard for your tenancy by following the steps in the [Getting Started with Cloud Guard](https://docs.oracle.com/iaas/Content/cloud-guard/using/part-start.htm) section of the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Documentation. During enablement, select an appropriate reporting region and configure at least one target to monitor your compartments.
