The iptables-persistent
package can be removed with the following command:
$ apt-get remove iptables-persistent
Running both ufw
and the services included in the
iptables-persistent
package may lead to conflict.
The following script can be run on the host to remediate the issue.
#!/bin/bash
# Remediation is applicable only in certain platforms
if dpkg-query --show --showformat='${db:Status-Status}\n' 'ufw' 2>/dev/null | grep -q installed; then
# CAUTION: This remediation script will remove iptables-persistent
# from the system, and may remove any packages
# that depend on iptables-persistent. Execute this
# remediation AFTER testing on a non-production
# system!
DEBIAN_FRONTEND=noninteractive apt-get remove -y "iptables-persistent"
else
>&2 echo 'Remediation is not applicable, nothing was done'
fi
