# Azure App Service should use Java 25 or later

New versions of Java software are periodically released to address security vulnerabilities and introduce new functionalities. This control requires OpenJDK 25 or later and evaluates both the App Service `java_version` field and Linux Java stack values in `linux_fx_version`. Organizations should assess each update for compatibility and ensure it integrates smoothly with other software components.

Current version: OpenJDK 25 LTS
