## Overview{% #overview %}

Integrate with Google Meet Incident Management to enable one-click and criteria-based Google meeting space creation for Datadog incidents.

**Data Collected**. This integration collects the Google meeting space name, meetingUri, and meetingCode in order to create a Google meeting on your behalf. Datadog does not retain or use this data obtained through Google Workspace APIs to develop, improve, or train generalized AI and/or ML models.

## Setup{% #setup %}

### Installation{% #installation %}

1. Navigate to the [Google Meet Incident Management integration tile](https://app.datadoghq.com/integrations?integrationId=google-meet-incident-management).
1. To begin the installation, click the "Configure" tab.
1. After reading the instructions in the modal, click **Authorize**, which redirects you to a Google login page.
1. Log in to Google with a generic user account. This user will be used to create all Google meeting spaces.
1. A consent screen appears requesting access to allow Datadog to create Google meeting spaces on behalf of this user. Click **Allow**.
1. After you accept the permissions, you're redirected back to the Google Meet Incident Management integration tile and can begin using Google Meet features for Datadog incidents.

## Permissions{% #permissions %}

Google Meet Incident Management requires the following OAuth scopes.

### Scopes{% #scopes %}

## Usage{% #usage %}

### Enabling one-click Google meeting spaces{% #enabling-one-click-google-meeting-spaces %}

To enable one-click Google meeting spaces for incidents,

1. Navigate to the [Incident Integration Settings](https://app.datadoghq.com/incidents/settings?section=integrations).
1. Scroll to the Google Meet section.
1. Enable the **Enable Google Meet creation** toggle.
1. Click **Save**.

After enabling one-click Google meeting spaces, start a Google meeting space by clicking **Start Google Meet** from the incident header.

You are redirected to instantly join the meeting through the browser.

### Enabling automatic creation{% #enabling-automatic-creation %}

To enable automatic, criteria-based Google meeting spaces for incidents:

1. Navigate to the [Incident Integration Settings](https://app.datadoghq.com/incidents/settings?section=integrations).
1. Scroll to the Google Meet section.
1. Enable the **Enable Google Meet creation** toggle.
   1. Enable the **Automatically create Google Meet meetings** toggle.
   1. (Optional) Specify the incident criteria that creates a Google meeting space. If left blank, any changes to an incident without an existing Google meeting space will create a Google meeting space.
1. Click **Save**.

### Slack bookmark{% #slack-bookmark %}

Add important links from Google Meet to the incident Slack channel's bookmarks:

1. Navigate to the [Incident Integration Settings](https://app.datadoghq.com/incidents/settings?section=integrations).
1. Scroll to the Slack section.
1. Enable the **Add important links to the incident channel's bookmarks** toggle.

If an incident Slack channel exists, this feature adds a bookmark for the Google meeting space to that channel.

For more information on Slack features, see the [Integrations - Slack features](https://docs.datadoghq.com/incident_response/incident_management/setup_and_configuration/integrations.md#slack-features) documentation.

### Meeting summaries{% #meeting-summaries %}

{% /callout %}

Enable AI-generated meeting summaries to automatically summarize incident Google Meet calls. During a meeting, live summaries are periodically posted to the incident timeline and the incident chat channel. When the meeting ends, a final post-meeting summary is posted.

#### Enabling meeting summaries{% #enabling-meeting-summaries %}

AI features must be enabled for your organization before the Datadog Transcriber can join meetings.

To enable meeting summaries for incident Google Meet meetings:

1. Navigate to the [Incident Integration Settings](https://app.datadoghq.com/incidents/settings?section=integrations).
1. Scroll to the Google Meet section.
1. Enable the **Enable Google Meet creation** toggle.
1. Enable the **Generate AI meeting summaries** toggle.
1. (Optional) Add conditions to prevent summarization for specific incidents. By default, meetings for private incidents are not summarized.
1. Click **Save**.

#### Summarizing an incident meeting{% #summarizing-an-incident-meeting %}

Meeting summaries are created for Google Meet meetings attached to an incident.

When a meeting starts, a Datadog Transcriber joins the Google Meet call. This may take 10 to 30 seconds. During the meeting, live summaries are periodically posted to:

- The **incident timeline**, under a "Meeting Summary" entry.
- The **incident chat channel**, in the meeting card thread and broadcast to the channel.

When the meeting ends, a final post-meeting summary is posted to the same locations.

#### Re-inviting the transcriber{% #re-inviting-the-transcriber %}

If the Datadog Transcriber leaves a meeting, re-invite it to the same linked meeting to resume summarization:

1. Open the incident in Datadog.
1. In the incident header, open the menu for the linked Google Meet meeting.
1. Click **Add Transcriber** (the robot icon) beside the meeting.
1. If required, admit the Datadog Transcriber from the meeting lobby or waiting room so transcription can begin.

The robot icon shows whether the transcriber is joining or already in the meeting. If you cannot add the transcriber, hover over the icon to see the reason.

Re-inviting requires permission to edit the incident and, for organizations with seat-based billing, an [Incident Management or Incident Response seat](https://docs.datadoghq.com/account_management/billing/incident_response.md#allocate-seats). Re-inviting does not override conditions that prevent summarization, including the default exclusion for private incidents.

A re-invite prompt can appear in the incident's Slack or Microsoft Teams meeting-card thread after the transcriber leaves. The prompt covers timeouts while waiting for admission or participants, everyone leaving the meeting, and removal of the transcriber. Select **Yes** to re-invite it or **No** to dismiss the prompt. Connect your chat account to Datadog before using this action.

### Removing the App{% #removing-the-app %}

To uninstall the Google Meet Incident Management integration, navigate to the Google Meet Incident Management tile and click the "Configure" tab. Click **Uninstall Integration**.

## Data Collected{% #data-collected %}

Google Meet Incident Management collects the `name`, `meetingUri`, and `meetingCode` from Google Meet's [create meeting space](https://developers.google.com/meet/api/reference/rest/v2/spaces/create) API to display them in the Incident Management product.

{% alert level="info" %}
When meeting summaries are enabled, meeting audio is recorded and transcribed by a Datadog [subprocessor](https://www.datadoghq.com/legal/subprocessors/). After a 7 day retention period, all data is automatically deleted.
