## Overview{% #overview %}

[Render](https://render.com) is a cloud application platform for deploying web services, static sites, background workers, cron jobs, and private services.

This integration forwards logs from your Render services to Datadog using Render's [Log Streams](https://render.com/docs/log-streams), giving you visibility into request and application logs.

Log Streams are not available for static sites, since they do not emit logs.

## Setup{% #setup %}

### Prerequisites{% #prerequisites %}

- A Render account with at least one active service.
- Overriding the log destination for individual services requires the **Scale** plan or higher. Excluding individual services from the default stream requires the **Pro** plan or higher.

### In Datadog{% #in-datadog %}

1. Copy the generated webhook URL from the **Configure** tab on the [Render Logs integration tile](https://app.datadoghq.com/integrations/render).

### In Render{% #in-render %}

1. From your workspace's home in the Render [Dashboard](https://dashboard.render.com), click **Integrations > Observability** in the left pane.
1. Under **Log Streams**, click **+ Set default** to configure the account-level default destination, or open a service's **Settings > Log Stream** section and choose **Override** to configure a per-service destination.
1. Set the **Log Endpoint** field to the Datadog HTTPS logs intake URL you generated in the previous step.
1. Set the **Token** field to the value of the `dd-api-key` query parameter from that same URL. Although Render marks this field as optional, it is required for the Datadog intake to accept the logs.
1. Click **Save Changes**.

### Validation{% #validation %}

After a few minutes, Render logs are available to query in Datadog Log Explorer using `source:render`.

## Uninstallation{% #uninstallation %}

In Render, navigate to **Integrations > Observability** and remove the Log Stream destination (or per-service override). Afterward, uninstall the Render Logs integration tile in Datadog.
