# OCI Recovery Service
Integration version1.0.0
## Overview{% #overview %}

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Recovery Service provides automated backup and recovery for Oracle databases running on OCI. It offers continuous backup protection, point-in-time recovery, and long-term retention of database backups to meet business continuity and compliance requirements.

This integration collects metrics from the [oci_recovery_service](https://docs.oracle.com/iaas/recovery-service/doc/available-recovery-service-metrics.html) namespace to monitor and alert on the health, capacity, and performance of your protected databases.

## Setup{% #setup %}

### Installation{% #installation %}

After the [Oracle Cloud Infrastructure](https://docs.datadoghq.com/integrations/oracle_cloud_infrastructure/) integration is set up, ensure that any namespaces mentioned in the Overview are included in your [Connector Hub](https://cloud.oracle.com/connector-hub/service-connectors).

## Data Collected{% #data-collected %}

### Metrics{% #metrics %}

|  |
|  |
| **oci.recovery\_service.space\_used\_for\_recovery\_window**(gauge) | The amount of storage space that is currently used to meet the recovery window goal for the protected database.*Shown as gigabyte* |
| **oci.recovery\_service.protected\_database\_size**(gauge) | The total storage space consumed by a database protected by Recovery Service.*Shown as gigabyte* |
| **oci.recovery\_service.protected\_database\_health**(gauge) | Indicates the current protection status or health of the database. A value of `0` indicates that the database is Protected. A value of `1` indicates a Warning status due to a potential data loss exposure. A value of `2` indicates an Alert status if the latest backup has failed. |
| **oci.recovery\_service.data\_loss\_exposure**(gauge) | Indicates the time since the last valid backup, or the amount of time for potential data loss.*Shown as second* |
