## Overview{% #overview %}

**AIStor for Datadog: On-Prem Storage for Observability at Scale**

As observability data grows, so does the cost and complexity of storing it. AIStor is a high-performance, S3-native data store that gives Datadog customers a validated on-premises backend for large-scale log storage. Data stays behind your own firewall for cost control, residency, or compliance requirements, and throughput keeps up with what Datadog's analysis engine expects.

AIStor integrates natively with Datadog's monitoring stack. It exposes Prometheus-compatible metrics and OpenTelemetry (OTLP) tracing, so your storage layer shows up right alongside the rest of your infrastructure. It is built for continuously ingested, actively queried data, not archival cold storage.
