## Overview{% #overview %}

[Google Cloud Storage Transfer Service](https://cloud.google.com/storage-transfer/docs/overview) is a fully managed service that transfers data from external sources, such as other cloud storage providers, on-premises storage, or other Google Cloud Storage buckets, into Google Cloud Storage.

Use the Datadog Google Cloud Platform integration to monitor the throughput, object counts, and errors of your Storage Transfer Service transfer jobs and agents.

The Google Cloud Storage Transfer Service check requires the [Google Cloud Platform integration](https://docs.datadoghq.com/integrations/google-cloud-platform.md) to be configured. No additional installation is needed once the Google Cloud Platform integration is set up.
