## Overview{% #overview %}

[Google Cloud Monitoring](https://cloud.google.com/monitoring/docs/monitoring-overview) collects metrics, events, and metadata from Google Cloud, and runs uptime checks against your public endpoints.

Use the Datadog Google Cloud Platform integration to collect metric ingestion volume and uptime check results from Google Cloud Monitoring.

## Setup{% #setup %}

### Installation{% #installation %}

If you haven't already, set up the [Google Cloud Platform integration](https://docs.datadoghq.com/integrations/google-cloud-platform.md) first. There are no other installation steps.
