## Overview{% #overview %}

[Google Cloud Managed Service for Microsoft Active Directory](https://cloud.google.com/managed-microsoft-ad) is a highly available, hardened Microsoft Active Directory (AD) service running on Google Cloud. It lets you use groups and users you already manage in Active Directory to control access to resources such as Windows workloads, Windows containers, and Google Cloud services.

Enable this integration to monitor domain health, LDAPS certificate expiry, and trust state for your managed Active Directory domains.

If you haven't already, set up the [Google Cloud Platform integration](https://docs.datadoghq.com/integrations/google-cloud-platform.md) first. No additional installation is needed to collect Google Cloud Managed Service for Microsoft Active Directory metrics.

| **gcp.managedidentities.microsoft_ad.domain.trust.state**(gauge)     | Detailed state for Active Directory trust between source and target domain. True if connected, else false.                                        |
