On Google Cloud, Cloud Service Mesh (formerly Anthos Service Mesh) and Istio on Google Kubernetes Engine send Istio metrics to Cloud Monitoring. Use the Datadog Google Cloud Platform integration to collect Istio control-plane and service-level metrics, so you can: - Monitor request rates, error rates, and latency for the services in your mesh. - Track control plane health, including config pushes, config convergence latency, connected proxies, and rejected configurations. ## Setup{% #setup %} ### Installation{% #installation %} If you haven't already, set up the [Google Cloud Platform integration](https://docs.datadoghq.com/integrations/google_cloud_platform.md) first. There are no other installation steps. After the Google Cloud Platform integration is configured, metrics under the `gcp.istio.*` namespace are collected automatically.
