## Overview{% #overview %}

[Google Cloud IDS](https://cloud.google.com/intrusion-detection-system) (Intrusion Detection System) provides threat detection for intrusions, malware, spyware, and command-and-control attacks by mirroring traffic from your Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) network.

Use the Datadog Google Cloud Platform integration to collect metrics from Google Cloud IDS.

If you haven't already, set up the [Google Cloud Platform integration](https://docs.datadoghq.com/integrations/google-cloud-platform.md) first. There are no other installation steps.
