## Overview{% #overview %}

cside provides visibility into client-side script behavior running in users' browsers. This includes scripts from marketing tools, open-source dependencies, CDNs, and other third-party or first-party sources that may access, modify, or transmit sensitive data.

Traditional web security tools, such as WAFs, primarily inspect traffic before it reaches the browser and may not capture runtime behavior inside the client environment. cside helps monitor browser-executed activity and identify suspicious or unexpected script behavior, such as credential or payment data access, unauthorized content modification, or activity that affects AI agents and SEO crawlers.

cside also includes fingerprinting capabilities that help identify browsers, devices, automation frameworks, and traffic patterns associated with bots, AI agents, and other automated activity. These signals can support fraud detection use cases such as detecting suspicious account creation, abuse of signup or checkout flows, automated scraping, and other anomalous client-side behavior.

The Datadog integration allows cside detections, fingerprinting signals, fraud indicators, and related security events to be sent into Datadog. Teams can use this data to monitor, alert, investigate, and correlate client-side activity alongside the rest of their observability and security data.
