## Overview{% #overview %}

[Microsoft System Center Operations Manager](https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/system-center) (SCOM) is a service that helps you monitor and manage your IT environment.

The Microsoft SCOM integration collects alerts and events from Microsoft SCOM as logs in Datadog. It also collects configuration snapshots of agents, agentless managed computers, management servers, management packs, overrides, monitors, and monitoring objects. The integration provides three out-of-the-box dashboards for real-time visibility into your SCOM environment.

### Dashboards{% #dashboards %}

- **Microsoft SCOM - Agent Infrastructure**: Health, load, and version distribution across SCOM agents, management servers, and agentless computers.
- **Microsoft SCOM - Alert Investigation**: Select one alert name and trace it end to end: severity, resolution state, trend, affected objects, and the monitors, overrides, and management packs that raised it.
- **Microsoft SCOM - Event Investigation**: Windows events correlated by monitor, override, management pack, and monitoring object, with severity trends and collection-source breakdowns.

## Data collected{% #data-collected %}

### Logs{% #logs %}

The Microsoft SCOM integration collects logs for `alerts`, `events`, `agents`, `agentless_managed_computers`, `management_servers`, `overrides`, `management_packs`, `monitors`, and `monitoring_objects` by default. It also supports `task_results`, `groups`, and `discovery`; these are not collected by default — add them to `collect_data` to enable collection.
