## Overview{% #overview %}

Azure NAT Gateway is a managed network address translation service that provides outbound internet connectivity for resources in a private subnet without requiring a public IP on each resource. This integration surfaces bandwidth, connection count, and dropped-packet metrics for your NAT gateways.

If you haven't already, set up the [Microsoft Azure integration](https://docs.datadoghq.com/integrations/azure.md) first. There are no other installation steps.

| **azure.network_natgateways.packet_count**(count)            | Total number of packets transmitted within time period.              |
| **azure.network_natgateways.packet_drop_count**(count)      | Count of dropped packets.                                            |
| **azure.network_natgateways.snat_connection_count**(count)  | Total concurrent active connections.                                 |
| **azure.network_natgateways.total_connection_count**(gauge) | Total number of active SNAT connections.                             |
