{% /alert %}

This integration provides comprehensive visibility into your Aruba Central Environment by collecting metrics for [Network Device Monitoring](https://app.datadoghq.com/devices), including access point and switch health, client connectivity and signal quality, uplink throughput and WAN performance, and site-level traffic trends. This will enable you to monitor device status, troubleshoot wireless issues, and identify network bottlenecks.

## Setup{% #setup %}

1. **Create client credentials** following [instructions in Aruba's documentation](https://developer.arubanetworks.com/new-central/docs/generating-and-managing-access-tokens#create-client-credentials). Copy the generated **Client ID** and **Client secret** to a secure location.

1. From the **URL** section of Aruba's credentials page, copy the [Base URL](https://developer.arubanetworks.com/new-central/reference/getdevicesv1) that matches the region you want to monitor. Paste the hostname portion into **API domain** (for example, `us5.api.central.arubanetworks.com`).

1. Paste your **Client ID** and **Client secret** into the corresponding fields.

1. Use the **Monitor access points**, **Monitor switches**, and **Monitor gateways** toggles to choose which device types to collect. At least one must remain enabled.

1. *(Optional)* Use **Site IDs** to restrict collection to specific Aruba Central sites. Leave empty to monitor every site visible to the credentials. Site IDs are numeric strings (for example, `284018783611`). To find one, navigate to a site in Aruba Central and copy the `siteId` query parameter from the browser URL.

**Note:** Any Aruba Central user can create client credentials, but the API token inherits the permissions of the user who created it. We recommend using an account with at least read-only access to the **Network Operations** module to ensure full visibility across all devices and sites.
