## Overview{% #overview %}

[Alibaba Cloud VPC](https://www.alibabacloud.com/product/vpc) (Virtual Private Cloud) is an isolated network environment that lets you launch and manage Alibaba Cloud resources in a private network you control, including IPv4 and IPv6 addressing, gateways, and traffic controls.

Use this integration to monitor and alert on network traffic, bandwidth utilization, and packet drop rates for your VPCs by collecting metrics from the `alibabacloud.vpc` namespace.

After you set up the [Alibaba Cloud](https://docs.datadoghq.com/integrations/alibaba_cloud.md) integration, metrics for VPC are collected automatically.
