## Overview{% #overview %}

Alibaba Cloud Express Connect is a dedicated private network connection service that links your on-premises data center (IDC) to Alibaba Cloud VPCs through physical leased lines or virtual border routers (VBRs).

This integration allows you to monitor bandwidth usage, packet loss, latency, and traffic rates across your Express Connect physical connections and router interfaces.

After you set up the [Alibaba Cloud](https://docs.datadoghq.com/integrations/alibaba_cloud.md) integration, ensure that the Express Connect service is included in your Alibaba Cloud monitoring configuration.
