## Overview{% #overview %}

Alibaba Cloud Elastic IP Address (EIP) is a public IP address resource that can be dynamically associated with cloud resources such as ECS instances, NAT gateways, and SLB instances.

This integration allows you to monitor inbound and outbound traffic rates, packet rates, and rate-limiting drop speeds for your EIP resources by collecting metrics from the Alibaba Cloud EIP service.

After you set up the [Alibaba Cloud](https://docs.datadoghq.com/integrations/alibaba_cloud.md) integration, ensure that the EIP service is included in your Alibaba Cloud monitoring configuration.
