Get Started with Datadog on Stripe Projects

This product is not supported for your selected Datadog site. ().

Overview

Use Stripe Projects to provision and manage Datadog from the Stripe CLI. This flow creates a Datadog organization and adds its API key, site, and organization name to your application’s .env file.

Prerequisites

  • A Stripe account with an email address that isn’t associated with an existing Datadog account

Setup

Install the Stripe CLI and Projects plugin

  1. Install the Stripe CLI version 1.43.3 or later:

    npm install -g @stripe/cli

For other installation methods, see Install the Stripe CLI.

  2. Install the Stripe Projects plugin:

    stripe plugin install projects

Provision Datadog

  1. Initialize Stripe Projects. Run this command in the directory you want to use for your project, such as the root of your application repository:

    stripe projects init

  2. Add Datadog Observability:

    stripe projects add datadog/observability

  3. Confirm that the .env file in your project directory contains your Datadog API key, site, and organization name.

Upgrade your plan

To keep access to Datadog after your free trial ends, upgrade to pay-as-you-go. If your Stripe account has a saved payment method, this takes one command:

stripe projects upgrade datadog-observability

Access Datadog

  1. Go to the Datadog login page.
  2. Select Sign in with Google if you use a Google account to sign in to Stripe. Otherwise, select Forgot password? and enter the email address from your Stripe account to set a Datadog password.

Remove Datadog from Stripe Projects

Removing Datadog revokes your API key and takes the integration out of your Stripe project. Your Datadog organization and its data aren’t deleted and remain available in the Datadog UI.
