# Application gateways should have HTTP2 enabled

## Description{% #description %}

Enable HTTP/2 on Azure Application Gateway to improve connection performance and efficiency. This setting applies to connections from clients to gateway listeners; connections to backend servers continue to use HTTP/1.1.

## Remediation{% #remediation %}

Enable HTTP/2 on each application gateway using the HTTP2 option described in [Update an Azure Application Gateway](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cli/azure/network/application-gateway#az-network-application-gateway-update).
