## Overview{% #overview %}

[Google Cloud DNS](https://cloud.google.com/dns) is a scalable, reliable, and managed authoritative Domain Name System (DNS) service running on the same infrastructure as Google. It provides low-latency name resolution and translates domain names into IP addresses for your applications.

Use the Datadog Google Cloud Platform integration to collect metrics from Google Cloud DNS.

If you haven't already, set up the [Google Cloud Platform integration](https://docs.datadoghq.com/integrations/google-cloud-platform.md) first. There are no other installation steps.
